Another year of girls' skate evenings took place during this year's holidays.
The community called Girls Spin Sk8 Wheels regularly organized " late evening miniramp sessions" every Thursday in the Minoška and in the skatepark at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. This was the second year that, in cooperation with the Džungle bkao bar, skateboarding is loosely followed by a cultural program in the form of concerts, DJ sets, or an exhibition of sk8 records.
We also supported them this year by donating several pieces of our POPNAME merch and providing several pairs of shoes in collaboration with Nike Skateboarding. The girls were able to test out the Bruin Hi shoe model from their workshop.
"There aren't many events purely for girls, so we wanted to make them happy at the end of the holidays, something they would enjoy and have a good time. This was a unique opportunity to combine everything. The event was a success and the feedback is more than amazing." Zuzka Karbanová, who is behind the entire GSSW project, says about the whole concept to support girls' skateboarding.
