GRAMICCI
is a cult outdoor and lifestyle brand founded in 1982 in California's Yosemite Valley by mountaineer Mike Graham. Graham is a member of the famous group "Stonemasters", which in the 70s pushed the boundaries of free climbing. It became famous mainly for combining functional climbing clothing with urban style. Thanks to this, it is now considered an icon of modern streetwear.
The first functional shorts were created in Mike's garage, because the clothing of the time did not provide sufficient freedom of movement. The iconic symbol is the hand-drawn "Running Man" logo.
In the 90s, the brand became popular with surfers and skateboarders due to its durability. It later became an icon in Japan, where its "vintage outdoor" style was combined with modern urbanism.
The name "Gramicci" was created as a humorous Italian version of Graham's last name during the first "all-Italian" ascent of Half Dome, even though none of the team was Italian.
