P-Rod 1

Nike SB P-Rod 1 "20th Anniversary" — The One That Made It Make Sense

Before Nike SB was cool, it wasn’t. Skate shops weren’t buying in, skaters weren’t impressed, and the shoes? Let’s just say the early 2000s weren’t kind to Swoosh’s first attempts at breaking into the scene. The culture had its guards up—and for good reason. Big brands didn’t have a great track record of respecting the space.

But in 2005, everything changed. Enter Paul Rodriguez. Young, fearless, already stacking video parts and contest wins. When Nike gave him a signature model, it wasn’t just a business move—it was a statement. And the P-Rod 1 was that statement in leather and Zoom Air.

Back Where It Started

Twenty years later, the shoe that put Nike SB on the map is making a comeback. The P-Rod 1 "20th Anniversary" drops in Spring/Summer 2025, staying true to the OG white and black colorway that made it a staple. This is Nike hitting rewind—not to live in the past, but to show how far the story’s come.

The build stays classic: full-grain leather upper, mesh tongue, padded collar, and that unmistakable P-Rod pattern wrapping the heel. Underfoot, Zoom Air still handles the impact, and the cupsole stays chunky—because some things just feel right.

Legacy in the Details

Platinum hits on the eyestay and heel branding give it just enough shine. A custom "SHS" dubrae nods to the start of it all—“So High Soar,” Rodriguez’s longtime mantra.

This retro isn’t about hype for hype’s sake. It’s about the moment Nike SB earned its place in skateboarding. About when the community started looking at Swoosh not as an outsider, but as part of the culture. And it all started here.

OG status, 20 years deep, coming soon.
