Outstanding French skater Lucas Puig and adidas Skateboarding present a PUIG shoe promo model.
The silhouette was launched in 2020, either as the first version that emerged from the PALACE collab design or as a standalone promo model at the end of 2020. And it becomes a celebration of Puig's almost ten-year tenure with the Three Stripes.
Described as a mix of British street subculture and French luxury fashion, PUIG offers an interesting hybrid look centered around a Samba-style tongue and a raised racing-style heel counter, complete with a green triangle graphic (alas, the PALACE logo) that winds up from the bottom of the sole.
The upper is made of premium suede with adiTUFF technology. The gold adidas trefoil is embossed on the super-comfortable tongue and the sidewall has PUIG printed in gold (the script here reminds us of Palace).
The sole has a new hi-tech design, it is also very attractive in appearance and also has adiPRENE cushioning technology.
“The goal with the PUIG model was to create something that was functional for skateboarding, but also to incorporate Lucas’ personal style and aesthetic into the footwear,” said adidas Skateboarding Design Director Scott Johnston. “We’re really grateful to have partners who were all open to such an authentic design process. The collaboration between adidas, Lucas, and (Palace founders) Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis was easily one of the most creative and honest partnerships adidas Skateboarding has ever had.”
