The year is 2009 and Ryan O'Connor buys a screen printing machine in his mom's garage in Florida and, together with his friends, prints the Ripndip slogan on T-shirts, which he then skates in. The originality is so impressive that it immediately catches the attention of everyone around him. Ryan and his friends go around the surrounding parks and give out their T-shirts to skaters. You can see riders like Johan Stuckey or Jack Moran wearing Ripndip clothing . Ryan moves to Los Angeles, where he is helped and influenced by skateboarding legend and HUF brand founder Keith Hufnagel. In LA, the fame and awareness of the Ripndip brand skyrockets. Their brick-and-mortar store is located in the Fairfax district, right next to the Supreme store.
The graphics of limited edition Rip N Dip clothing and accessories are full of ideas, bright colors and, most importantly, humor. The skate and streetwear brand's frequent motifs include the cat Lord Nermal , the green alien Lord Alien, Nermal's twin, the black tomcat Lord Jermal, and also Lord Mingo, the pink flamingo.
With the arrival of a new graphic designer and artist from New York, Jamie Lemperia, who was given free rein in his creations - followed by a complete redesign of the entire Ripndip brand into the form we see today. The Rip and Dip brand has come a long way in a relatively short time and today has its stores in big cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo and you can immediately recognize their appearance - across the entire building there is a crazy graphic of the current collection that you can see from a mile away.
For the young Generation Z, the crazy brand RIPNDIP is starting to become a cult.
